Thank you for your interest in working with YR SPACE.

Please follow the below steps. If you require any assistance with accessing this information then please contact YR SPACE program management at admin@yrspace.com.au or via telephone on (03) 9736 3034.

STEP ONE: GET IN TOUCH

Contact and meet with Program Management. See Join Our Team.

STEP TWO: NDIS WORKER SCREENING CHECK

An NDIS Worker Screening Check is a national background check conducted by state or territory worker screening units to assess whether a worker may pose a risk to a person with disability. The check determines whether a worker is “cleared” or “excluded” from working in certain roles with people with disability. NDIS Worker Screening Checks are valid for up to 5 years.

State and territory worker screening units perform the check on behalf of the NDIS Commission, and the results are recorded in the National Worker Screening Database, ensuring that the clearance is recognized nationally.

As your employer and a registered NDIS provider, YR SPACE is required to ensure that all staff in roles requiring an NDIS Worker Screening Check hold a valid clearance. To meet legislative requirements, all staff working on YR SPACE programs must possess both an NDIS Clearance and a Working With Children Clearance (WWCC), as these roles involve child-related work as part of their NDIS role.

You can apply for your NDIS Worker Screening Check online through Service Victoria.

You will need:

  • Employer details: Yarra Ranges SDS, Employer ID: 4-4331-1698

  • A smartphone, for completing the ID check

  • Original ID documents (as listed on the Service Victoria website)

Victoria applies a “no clearance, no start” approach. This means that a person cannot commence employment or be engaged by a registered NDIS provider in a risk-assessed role without a valid NDIS Clearance.

The Worker Screening Unit in Victoria is your main point of contact for:

  • Applying for an NDIS Worker Screening Check

  • Accessing details about your current check, including:

    • Expiry date

    • Worker screening ID number

    • Current clearance status

  • Updating your details, such as contact information

If you require any assistance completing the NDIS Worker Screening Check, please contact the YR SPACE Manager on (03) 9736 3034 or admin@yrspace.com.au .
