Documents

As a member of the YR SPACE staff team,  there is a variety of information that we are required to provide to you. Please download, view and retain the below documents for your information and reference.

At YR SPACE, we prioritize sustainability by keeping our documents online rather than printed, significantly reducing paper waste and our overall environmental impact. This digital approach not only conserves resources but also enhances accessibility for our community. However, we understand that some may prefer physical copies; therefore, hard copies are available upon request to ensure everyone can engage with our materials in the way that suits them best.

NDIS Worker Screening Check

The National Disability Insurance Scheme Worker Screening Check (NDIS Check) has started. The NDIS Check is a way to ensure that people who work with NDIS participants do not present an unacceptable risk to participants. All states and territories have implemented NDIS Worker Screening Check arrangements.  If you are a worker delivering NDIS supports and services for our organisation you are required to have an NDIS worker screening clearance.

Victoria is taking a ‘no clearance, no start’ approach to the NDIS Check. This means that a person is prohibited from being employed or otherwise engaged by a registered NDIS provider in a risk assessed role unless the person has an NDIS Clearance. We, as your employer and a registered NDIS provider, must make sure all staff who need an NDIS Clearance have one.

To meet legislative requirements, our staff are required to possess both an NDIS Clearance and a WWC Clearance as they are engaged in child related work as part of their NDIS role. As such, you may have your WWC fee waived, further information can be found at here.

An NDIS Clearance is valid for 5 years from the date of the notice unless it is surrendered or revoked.

What is worker screening?

The NDIS Worker Screening Check is an assessment of whether a person who works, or seeks to work, with people with disability poses a risk to them. The assessment will determine whether a person is cleared or excluded from working in certain roles with people with disability.

How do I apply for an NDIS Worker Screening Check?

You can apply for your NDIS Check online here by clicking ‘Apply Now at Service Victoria’.

You’ll need:

  • Your employer details (Yarra Ranges Special Developmental School, Employer ID: 4-4331-1698)

  • A smartphone, for the ID check

  • Original ID documents (listed at the link above)

If you require any assistance with completing the NDIS Worker Screening Check then please contact the YR SPACE Program Manager on (03) 9736 3034 or via admin@yrspace.com.au.
